There is a position available for an Administrative Assistant in AJC’s Department of Contemporary Jewish Life and Koppelman Institute on American Jewish-Israeli Relations.

The Administrative Assistant does all of this while adhering to AJC's core values: Respect, Teamwork, Integrity, Excellence, and Accountability.

Responsibilities include:

  • Take minutes at relevant meetings
  • Transcribe tapes of dictated manuscripts
  •  Transcribe handwritten manuscripts and correspondence
  •  Correct and format edited documents for publication  
  • Secretarial duties, including handling of correspondence, faxing, photocopying, handling email and telephone calls, keeping track or and ordering supplies, maintaining departmental mailing lists, and keeping up of files.
  • Administrative responsibilities for meetings, mailings to internal and external constituencies.
  • Research issues relating to anti-Semitism online (Google and Nexis) 


  • College degree is required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and have basic computer layout abilities (experience with PageMaker preferred)
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy
  • Well-developed customer service orientation 
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Accuracy, organization, and attention to detail are required
  •  Ability to work well under pressure and independently
  •  A pleasant and articulate telephone manner
  •  Computer skills required: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint.
  •  Knowledge of Jewish life is preferred
